Thats not completely true. The words got a kind of double meaning. Check out "Through the looking glass" on Project Gutenberg. And search the e-text for 'Jabberwockey'. The first few hits are the poem itself - then comes the explanation of the first paragraph. A friend of mine wrote her degree dissertation about "non"sense poems. I spellchecked it. It was quite interesting.
Such things, Spliffy, are an excellent compensation for empty servers and no TCE. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Ah of course, they have a sense, but they are still made up. If I recall, the wabe is the shadow cast by a sundial... Of course, some of the words, like "chortled" have fallen into general use.

Really? Umpf I had two... of both. Embarassed My father had the idea that it might be of use to be familiar with computers.
I remember the 5 1/4'' floppy discs were very expensive, too. 100 Deutschmarks (about 50 Euros, inflation not drawn into calculation) for a pack of ten. But I had my C64 in use some days ago and the only game I bought (Little Computer People) still works! Good old Howard didn't age a bit. He even had the same strangely lavender-colored pet dog.
