I have played the very first one.
Looks all the same.

It had some nice moments, but being an agent game it
was way too linear, no chances to do anything different.
Replay value 0%.

Ubisoft with this new copy protection. You must ever be online for playing a singleplayer game why? And when the Ubisoft server or your internet connection are down you cant play.

Splinter Cell: Conviction runs (as every new Ubi Soft game, recent example Assasin Creed 2) a new kind of copy protection.
You need to be permanently online and connected to the Ubi Soft master servers to be able run the game.
Once the connection is lost your game stops immediately. That just simply means that you won't ever be able to
run the game in offline mode, plus once their servers crash your copy is just useless.

K.O. criteria for me. As long as Ubisoft uses this kind of ridiculous copy protection I am not going to buy any game published by them.
That's a pity due to the fact that Conviction seems to be quite a good game.

My friend actually just recently bought this game for his pc and i've had the opportunity to try it out. It is a very smooth game very stealthy the buttons are a little weird at first but once you get to use to it its just like any other game very fun and thrilling to play. This is just my opinion but it is a very stealthy game and fairly realistic and easy to die. I find its easy to beat certain missions and levels by always killing all the lights and marking many people using he sonar. overall i think its a game that will become fairly popular. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

But I think there will be some kind of crack to play the game without internet-connection. Everything is possible & I really don't know wheter I have read some methods to pass the protection... Embarassed

EDIT: Ah, here: http://www.4players.de/4players.php/spielinfonews/Allgemein/421/2010843.html - for Germans only (:
http://www.gulli.com/news/assassins-creed-2-kopierschutz-ausgetrickst-2010-04-05

There was a site where they have written some aspects, but I really don't know where I have read it -.-' But there is a way to play the game offline, not smoothly I guess, but a way is opened Very Happy

Razor1911 has given up & Ski Drow was more or less successful!
