I think about buying a better swiss knife. And so I browsed amazon to find one thet is appropriate.... When I came across THIS....

http://www.amazon.de/Wenger-Schweizer-Offiziersmesser-Messer-Schatulle/dp/B000R0JDSI/ref=sr_1_110?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1283471876&sr=1-110

The one above is German. There is an English version here but for those of you who can read German, I recommend the German customer reviews. They are really funny. There are funny ones on the English pages, too, but they are not voted to the top of the list so you have to look for them (so much for "The Germans have got no sense of humor").

Good idea, but no. I have got this tool but there are not enough blades on that (only a carved one) - so I think I will get this one as an addition. Two blades and the one thing, that I use all the time, but which nobody I know even knows, what its good for: The hook to carry around parcels that are tied up with package rope. Love it.

Actually it is the best there is. The material-quality is the same as the Victorinox tools but they have more models to choose from and the tools are shaped a little better if you ask me. On the other Hand the one from Victorinox is the only one with a ratchet, while the Leathermans have a bitholder integrated into the tool itself.
There are also some stunning special Leatherman-editions that cost several hundreds of Euros. Beautiful, but for everyday use, I prefer the standard models.

I really got to love mine. I have it with me like all the time and whenever you come across something to screw, you are ready to do so. The quality is so good, that it practically doesn't wear off, because it is really hard. I mean HARD. I more or less screw the whole day. People come up to me and say: "Whoa, you have a really nice tool there - lets screw a little." And I am more than happy to oblige. With that tool you can go all the way. Cleaning the pipes or drilling? No problem. It is great for poking and the number of cables I laid with it is beyond counting.

Do you know the effect when you want to answer in one sentence and get carried away somehow? Rolling Eyes Embarassed

but i rofled about this sentence from the description of the macgyver knife

guess the humor wouldt get lost in translation

LOL! Re-looking at the McGuyver-knife I suddenly realized, that that is the exact knife I chose to buy. It is the "Huntsman" by Victorinox. They only labeled it "McGuyver blablabla". Rolling Eyes
