Hmm - I'll have a try on one of the worst:

„Die Heroisierung des Durchschnittlichen gehört zum Kultus des Billigen"

„Heroification of the averagely belongs to the culture of the cheap"

So go for extremes, people. Right or left - doesn't matter the other side will beat u up nicely anyways. Thats the way. Brave new world. What worth lies within building up an average life?
What a nice little hookline! That's what people need: Easy to remember, so short and incisive... what? Brain? Ahh, no need for that, mate. Just repeat it and it becomes true automatically.

Read Habermas.

Adorno was German. The original is quite likely to be German.

What I meant with Habermas was:
Habermas wrote:

"[Adorno] hat mir auch die Augen geöffnet, dass man erst einmal den primären Text ausschöpfen muss, und zwar systematisch ausschöpfen muss, bevor
man in die Wirkungsgeschichte hineingeht." (Habermas)

"[Adorno] opened my eyes that one has to exploit the source text first, in a systematic manner, before one can go on to enter its effective history."

A very good piece of advice for those who pick out single statements from learned people. Twisted Evil

And:
Quote:

"Ein Deutscher, ist ein Mensch, der keine Lüge aussprechen kann, ohne sie selbst zu glauben..."

"A German is someone who cannot tell a lie without believing it himself."

Is only attributed to him, afaik. You can get directly into hells kitchen for quoting like that in social sciences. Wink

Hello ?

Anyone out there?

Triff? Mighty?

I can hear the voices but I can't see you.

Follow the light...follow my voice. I will guide you back into reality. You can make it. I know you can.

Remember...the light.

Ohhhh, don't spoil it, Spliffy. This is about sociology mainly - so there is no way back to reality - light or not. Rolling Eyes

Mighty can take a little argument. He is from Hamburg. Not only have they the best everyday car drivers, but they also have stamina. They might be a little mislead.... sometimes. Twisted Evil
And me... well... I know I cannot possibly change his mind, but no harm to my feelings that can't be soothed by a few well aimed shots in TCE afterwords. Cool
