Part Deux of my kitchen tales.

Sausage Casserole.

Now I have to apologise for not showing the finished photos. I'm afraid I had drunk too much wine with my guests and I simply forgot to do it.

You will need:

Sausages (very important), Pasata, Red Wine (very important), Mushrooms, Onion, Garlic, Fesh Basil, Sun dried Tomatoes, Sugar

Turn on your hob either by lighting the gas, electricity or an erotic dance.
Now splash a little oil in your pan and start to fry those sausages over a nice low heat.

While they are cooking, chop up the onion, garlic, sun dried tomatoes and slice the mushrooms.
I like mushrooms but you shouldn't eat too many or you won't have "mushroom" for any thing else.
Ignore me....I make these wisecracks because I'm just a "funghi"...anyone?

Once the sausages are golden brown (texture like sun) remove them from the pan and add the onion and garlic.

Here you can see the onion and garlic cooking away in that healthy sausage fat...

Once the onions start to cook through, drop in the red pepper, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes.

Invite the sausages back to the party and turn up the heat. It's gettin hot in here, so take off all your clothes...

It's wine time! Throw a good glass in and have two for yourself as a reward Smile.

Once the wine is reduced (you can hardly see any in the pan), transfer everything to a saucepan pour in the Passata, sprinkle in the Basil, a teaspoon of sugar and let that puppy simmer (Rmember? put the lid on and turn down the heat really low) for a good 30-40 mins.

Job Done. Serve with roast potatoes, fluffy rice or pasta.

I must confess this is a quite extravagant way to prepare sausages (prolly the mixed english/french way?) but I can't deny it looks tasty. but for someone living in germany and being used to the everyday and all german this here:

or this

or this here

sausages, mushrooms, dried tomatoes and garlic combined with a whine tomatoe sauce are rather disturbing Shocked

anyways I love red whine sauce and the overall image of this looks worth of giving it a try.

thanks....
